The American president Donald Trump issued a direct threat to Iran, stating that any Iranian 'fast attack' vessel approaching the blockade imposed by the U.S. in the Strait of Hormuz will be sunk.

This is the first reaction from the White House leader after the blockade came into effect. Trump emphasized that, although the Iranian navy has been 'completely destroyed', the fast attack vessels have not yet been attacked, but warned that they will be eliminated immediately if they approach the blockade. He mentioned that the Iranian fleet has suffered significant losses, but insisted that the fast attack vessels remain a potential threat.

Additionally, Trump announced that vessels from all nations entering or leaving Iranian ports are now subject to military blockade. The U.S. Central Command specified that vessels traveling between non-Iranian ports can transit the Strait of Hormuz.

The British center for maritime commercial operations (UKMTO) announced that neutral vessels have a 'limited grace period' to leave the area.

Furthermore, the UN stated that no country has the right to block navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the importance of freedom of international navigation.

Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has already been reduced by about 90% due to the current conflict.
