US President Donald Trump will on Wednesday hold talks with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani on a possible truce in the Gaza Strip. The talks, taking place in Doha, are aimed at a proposed 60-day ceasefire, including the release of hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops. The conflict began in October 2023, with thousands killed on both sides, and the talks are complicated by disagreements between Israel and Hamas.
