In a statement at the White House, Donald Trump says he has reached a deal with Vladimir Putin and Volodimir Zelensky to end the war in Ukraine, although he acknowledges that negotiations with Zelensky are more complicated than he anticipated. Trump has avoided commenting on the proposal to recognize Crimea as Russian territory, stressing that he wants an end to the conflict. In contrast, Zelenski has reaffirmed that Ukraine will not cede Crimea. Trump administration officials have also expressed concerns about the pace of negotiations and the uncertainty of an agreement.
