American President Donald Trump stated on Friday that he does not rule out the possibility of a military conflict with Venezuela, amid rising tensions in the region. The U.S. military has intensified operations near the coast of Venezuela, targeting vessels suspected of drug trafficking.

Additionally, the United States has imposed a maritime blockade against oil tankers docking in Venezuelan ports. Trump also called for Venezuela to return to the United States the oil properties nationalized decades ago, thus emphasizing the American administration's desire to reaffirm its influence in the region.
