On Friday, American President Donald Trump signed an executive order that cancels the punitive tariffs imposed on India, aimed at forcing it to give up oil imports from Russia. In addition, Trump reduced the 'reciprocal tariffs' from 25% to 18%.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed this decision, stating that a framework for a provisional trade agreement between India and the USA has been agreed upon. Modi emphasized that this framework reflects the depth and growing trust in the partnership between the two nations and will support the 'Make in India' initiative, generating new opportunities for various professional categories, including farmers and entrepreneurs. It is also expected that this agreement will create jobs, especially for women and youth.
