At the summit in Alaska, Putin proposed that Ukraine relinquish control over the Donbas, and Trump would support the idea. Ukrainian President Zelensky has refused to give up the territory, citing the constitution. Trump has discussed the proposal with European leaders, saying Russia could freeze its offensive in other regions if his demands are accepted. The current situation shows that Russia controls almost all of Lugansk province and part of Donetsk, while Herson and Zaporozhe remain under Ukrainian control.
