Donald Trump has announced measures to reduce the high costs of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the United States, a promise from his presidential campaign aimed at addressing the birth crisis. In a press conference, Trump stated that he wants to facilitate pregnancy for couples who want children, considering that the price of an IVF can reach tens of thousands of dollars and is rarely covered by health insurance.

Among the announced measures is the possibility of purchasing IVF treatments at a reduced price through a dedicated website, which will be available from 2026. Trump also proposed encouraging companies to offer specific health insurance for fertility care, similar to dental and vision insurance.

However, these measures have sparked controversy among conservative supporters, some opposing IVF on ethical grounds, believing it involves abortions through the non-use of all created embryos. This division reflects a broader issue in American society, which is facing a fertility crisis similar to other developed countries.
