After the agreed ceasefire in the conflict in Iran, American President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the intention to hold direct negotiations with Tehran in the near future. The White House later confirmed that an American delegation will depart on Saturday to Pakistan for discussions.

Trump stated that the meetings will take place very soon, mentioning that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and special envoy Steve Witkoff, along with Vice President JD Vance, will participate in the negotiations. The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, emphasized the importance of these discussions. Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, invited the US and Iranian delegates to Islamabad to address a final agreement to resolve the conflict. Pakistani sources suggest that representatives from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt may participate in the discussions, considering previous consultations with Pakistan for de-escalating the situation.
