Donald Trump intends to meet with Xi Jinping in South Korea to address trade disputes, following the expansion of China's control over rare metal exports. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that substantial communications have taken place between the two parties and that tariffs will not take effect until November 1. Although relations are tense, Bessent emphasized the reopening of communication channels, while Trump has threatened additional tariffs in response to China's measures.
