Trump communicated on Truth Social that he has agreed with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to extend an earlier trade agreement, preventing the imposition of across-the-board tariffs of 30% on goods imported from Mexico. Negotiations for a permanent agreement will continue over the next 90 days. However, some tariffs, such as 25% on fentanyl and cars and 50% on metals, will remain applicable. Mexico has pledged to remove certain trade barriers, described by Trump as 'numerous'.
