On Saturday, in the center of the Thai capital Bangkok, a tragic accident occurred between a freight train and a public bus, resulting in at least 8 deaths and over 30 injuries, according to local authorities and rescue services.
The accident took place at a busy intersection, where the train struck the bus, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. The head of the Bangkok police, Urumporn Koondejsumrit, confirmed the incident and mentioned that rescue teams are working to recover the victims.
Witnesses described the devastating scenes, and Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul ordered an investigation to determine the causes of the accident. Transport accidents are common in Thailand, often due to poor enforcement of safety regulations.
