On Friday night, during a fireworks display at the Dusseldorfer Rheinkirmes fairground, a firework exploded unexpectedly close to the ground, injuring 19 people, including a child. Police believe it was a tragic accident and have opened an investigation to determine the cause, possibly linked to an overturned launch container. Nearly 80 firefighters and rescuers responded, and organizers decided to end the festivities early as they consider whether to continue the fireworks tradition in the future.
