The island of Tenerife was marked on Saturday by tragedies related to coastal phenomena, with three deaths and 15 injuries. The first incident occurred on Roque de Las Bodegas beach, where six French tourists were caught by large waves, ignoring warning signs. A woman was airlifted to the hospital, and four other people required hospitalization.
On El Cabezo beach, a man was found dead at sea, despite attempts at resuscitation. The most serious incident took place in Puerto de la Cruz, where ten people were swept away by the waves; a woman was declared dead, and others suffered critical or moderate injuries. The Canary Islands are on pre-alert due to waves of up to four meters and strong winds, and authorities are urging citizens to heed warnings and avoid coastal areas.
