A steward from the Élysée Palace has been arrested for the theft of tableware and table service, and three men will be tried next year. The losses are estimated between 15,000 and 40,000 euros. The factory in Sèvres identified stolen items on auction sites, and investigators discovered that one of the suspects, a silver administrator, had plans for future thefts.
Approximately 100 items, including Sèvres porcelain and Baccarat cups, were found in his possession. The three suspects, accused of theft in common from the national heritage, have been placed under judicial supervision, and the trial has been postponed to February 26.
