The American president Donald Trump stated that he is not worried about the rise in gasoline prices in the United States, in the context of the conflict with Iran: "I have no concern regarding this. They will drop very quickly when everything is over and, if they rise, they rise"

The war with Iran has caused a significant increase in gasoline prices, by 20 cents per gallon, which is a 7% increase in just a few days. Donald Trump told Reuters that he has no intention of using the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which is the largest emergency reserve in the world, stored in underground caverns in Louisiana and Texas. He also expressed confidence that the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial channel for oil transport, will remain open, mentioning that the Iranian navy is "at the bottom of the sea".

These statements come shortly after Trump emphasized, in his State of the Union address, that gasoline prices have decreased.
