Donald Trump, speech to the nation: "To those countries that cannot obtain fuel, go to the strait and simply take it. Protect it. America wins, and wins more than ever."

Donald Trump delivered his first official speech at the White House on Wednesday evening (Washington time) since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, assuring that the U.S. is very close to achieving its objectives and to "bringing the matter to a good end" in Iran.

In a speech lasting about 20 minutes, Trump presented the U.S. attack as a retaliation for nearly half a century of violence from Iran and its representatives, arguing that this country cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.

The president did not articulate any specific scenario for ending the war and did not say whether he intends to send ground troops to seize Iran's enriched uranium or to reduce its ability to control the critical Strait of Hormuz.

"However, if an agreement is not reached during this period, we have our eyes set on key targets. We will hit them extremely hard in the next two to three weeks. We will bring them back to the Stone Age, where they belong. The Iranian navy has disappeared. The country's air forces are in ruins, and their leaders, for the most part, are now dead. Very few remain. America is winning, and winning more than ever. Since the beginning of my presidential campaign in 2015, I have said that I will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. This regime has chanted: death to America, death to Israel. To those countries that cannot obtain fuel, many of which refuse to engage in decapitating Iran... gather your courage, go into the Strait and simply take it. Protect it. Iran has been practically decimated - the hard part is over, so it should be easy, and, in any case, when this conflict ends, the strait will open up naturally, it will simply open up naturally.
