On Sunday, the Venezuelan army announced that Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has been appointed interim president, according to a decision by the Supreme Court. General Vladimir Padrino Lopez, the Minister of Defense, called for Maduro's release and condemned the assassination of his security team. In a call to the population, Padrino urged Venezuelans to resume their economic and educational activities, emphasizing the importance of restoring constitutional order. He also urged citizens not to yield to external threats and to remain united. The capture of Maduro by American forces was announced by President Donald Trump, who mentioned that he will be tried for charges of narco-terrorism.
