The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Sunday, in a post on X, that the naval blockade against Iran remains fully in effect.
In recent days, U.S. forces have redirected 12 commercial vessels attempting to breach the blockade and immobilized two ships that did not heed warnings. They also conducted inspections aboard the oil tanker M/T Charminar, which was sailing under the flag of the Comoros, in the Arabian Sea. After inspection, the vessel continued its journey. In the Gulf of Oman, the oil tanker M/T Lavine, under the flag of Mozambique, was immobilized after the crew ignored repeated warnings.
CENTCOM emphasized that its forces remain vigilant and prepared, continuing operations to control vessels suspected of violating the sanctions imposed on Iran. The naval blockade is part of the Trump administration's efforts to intensify pressure on Iran, in the context of the deteriorating security situation in the region.
