The American administration announced on Tuesday the lifting of restrictions imposed on the export of the most advanced artificial intelligence models developed by Anthropic, after the company committed to collaborate with authorities in managing security risks.

According to The New York Times, Anthropic confirmed on platform X that it received official approval from the Department of Commerce for the Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models, and will restore access to these AI systems starting Wednesday. The decision comes less than three weeks after the U.S. government imposed temporary restrictions, citing concerns related to national security.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick emphasized the company's commitments to proactively identify and manage the risks associated with artificial intelligence. Additionally, CIA Director John Ratcliffe compared the new AI models to "digital nuclear weapons," highlighting the strategic importance of these technologies in global competition. The administration reserves the right to reintroduce restrictions if Anthropic does not adhere to the commitments made.
