The USA has launched new attacks against Iran in response to the attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the launch of strong strikes against Iran, in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM emphasized that these attacks were unprovoked and violated the ceasefire.

The strikes targeted air defense systems, surface-to-air missiles, and drone launch bases, according to Reuters. The Iranian Foreign Ministry promised a retaliation, accusing the U.S. of violating the agreement.

These attacks complicate negotiations for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and for halting the Iranian nuclear program.
