Both delegations assessed the consultations as extremely productive, and the discussions reportedly demonstrated "substantial progress" in narrowing positions and establishing the next steps.

The White House welcomed these negotiations in Switzerland, in the presence of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, which constituted "a significant step forward" towards a solution for peace in this European country that is at war.

"The negotiations were constructive, focused on the objective and respectful, insisting on the common commitment to achieve a just and lasting peace," announced the White House, in a joint statement with the Ukrainian delegation present in Geneva.
