Ten years after the terrorist attacks of November 13, the terrorist threat in France remains significant, according to anti-terrorist prosecutor Olivier Christen. He stated on France Inter radio that the number of procedures opened by the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) is at its highest levels in the last five years. Christen mentioned a change in the nature of the threat, observing an "autonomization of individuals" involved in terrorist acts, who have less contact with terrorist organizations. He also emphasized a "youthening" of the defendants, with 17 minors being charged this year for acts of terrorism. Additionally, he highlighted the emergence of the terrorist threat from the far-right, with five procedures opened in this area in 2025, reflecting a violent radicalization of a political expression.
