The suspect detained for the murder of the former president of the Ukrainian Parliament has confessed to the crime, stating that he acted out of revenge against the Ukrainian authorities.

Andrii Parubii, former speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, was killed by an attacker disguised as a courier. The suspect, a 52-year-old man, was apprehended and stated that he committed the crime as an act of revenge, denying that he had been blackmailed by Russian services. He had established contacts with Russia in search of his missing son, a soldier in the war, and was placed in preventive detention for 60 days. Parubii was a prominent figure in the EuroMaidan Revolution and held important positions in the Ukrainian government.
