A complaint filed by an American woman against MMA star Conor McGregor for sexual assault was withdrawn this week, with the plaintiff's attorneys requesting the withdrawal in front of a court in Florida. McGregor, at 37 years old, denied any inappropriate behavior during a match in the NBA finals in June 2023. The prosecution refused to pursue criminal charges against McGregor in this case.
Additionally, McGregor was convicted in November 2024 in a civil trial in Ireland for rape, being ordered to pay $250,000. Furthermore, he was suspended for 18 months for missing three drug tests in 2024, thus having the possibility to return to the ring in March 2026. McGregor also withdrew his candidacy for the presidential elections in Ireland.
