Russia and Ukraine resume negotiations in Abu Dhabi on February 4 and 5.

The spokesperson for the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, announced that the second round of discussions between Russia and Ukraine, initially scheduled for Sunday, will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi, due to the need to coordinate the working agendas of the three parties involved. Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the meetings could also take place in Moscow.

The first round of discussions took place on January 23 and 24, without significant progress. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that the next trilateral meetings are scheduled for February 4 and 5. Negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, are difficult, being stalled by territorial issues, with Russia demanding the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk region, a request that is hard for Ukraine to accept for political and military reasons.
