Three thieves committed a rare robbery in central Tokyo, stealing suitcases containing the equivalent of 2.3 million euros in cash. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, near Ueno Station, a crowded area popular with tourists. The thieves used tear gas to distract the victims, a group of five Chinese and Japanese citizens who were trying to load the money into a vehicle. According to reports, the money was intended for currency exchange houses. Additionally, another similar incident occurred on the night from Thursday to Friday, when a man carrying 190 million yen was attacked with tear gas in a parking lot at Tokyo-Haneda Airport. The police are investigating a possible connection between the two attacks.
