The Pentagon is asking the American defense industry to double or even quadruple the production of missiles to prepare for a possible conflict with China, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ)

The Pentagon is exerting pressure on American missile manufacturers to rapidly increase their production capacity, especially after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The initiative, called the Munitions Acceleration Council, targets 12 types of weaponry, including the PATRIOT air defense system.
