The Pakistani army announced the killing of 30 insurgents in various military operations carried out along the border with Afghanistan, following a suicide attack in Islamabad that resulted in 12 deaths. Among them, 23 combatants, part of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), were eliminated in a single action, while the rest in other operations in the Mohmand, Lakki, and Marwat districts.
The army accuses India of supporting these insurgent groups, which operate in its name. Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have deteriorated, and Islamabad has accused Kabul of supporting the Pakistani Taliban, accusations that Afghanistan denies. In the context of these tensions, the two countries have agreed to a fragile ceasefire, but security issues persist.
