The Kremlin reiterated the invitation addressed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to come to Moscow for peace talks, in the context of intensifying efforts mediated by the U.S. to end the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the discussions should take place in Moscow, reproaching Zelensky for not responding to the previous invitation. Although Zelensky rejected a similar invitation last year, the Ukrainian foreign minister stated that the president is willing to discuss sensitive issues with Putin.

Recent U.S.-mediated discussions in Abu Dhabi have given new momentum to the negotiations, but significant differences in positions remain, especially regarding territorial issues and the status of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov stated that any meeting must be well-prepared, and Russia will guarantee Zelensky's security if he decides to come to Moscow. However, the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has called for the continuation of the war, reflecting a more aggressive vision among Kremlin supporters.
