On Wednesday, the Kosovo Parliament failed to elect a new Government, marking another failure in the context of a prolonged political crisis and institutional paralysis. The candidate of the ruling party, Albin Kurti, did not obtain enough votes, three weeks after Kurti failed to secure a vote of confidence for forming a government. According to the Kosovo Constitution, only two votes can be held for the election of a prime minister. If after the second vote a prime minister is not elected, the country's president is obliged to dissolve the Parliament and announce new elections, which must be organized within 40 days. This situation suggests a continuation of political instability in Kosovo.
