King Charles III and Pope Leo XIV left the Sistine Chapel after a joint service, participating in a private meeting in the Sala Regia, the papal residence. The discussions focused on environmental protection, an important theme for both personalities. The ceremony was concluded by Pope Leo with a prayer emphasizing divine creation and the importance of recognizing it in people's lives. The ecumenical service was led by Pope Leo and the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, who temporarily took over the leadership of the Church of England after the resignation of Justin Welby. The two religious leaders jointly pronounced a blessing, reaffirming the unity and collaboration between churches.
