One of the authors of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall committed suicide in prison. Another participant attempted to commit suicide but was saved.

One of the authors of the jihadist attack in March 2024, carried out at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, committed suicide in prison, according to local media citing sources from the Russian Penitentiary Service. Another participant in the attack also attempted to take his own life but was saved by doctors. The latter had already tried to commit suicide during the judicial process, in which he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Following the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 150 people, the Russian military justice system sentenced four perpetrators to life imprisonment. Among them is Shamsidin Fariduni, considered the main person responsible for the attack, trained in Turkey to prepare for the assault. During the trial, the defendants partially admitted their guilt, mentioning the acquisition of weapons for the attack.

The investigation established that all members of the group belonged to the ISIS-K branch, having links to international terrorism. This was the deadliest terrorist attack in Russia since the Beslan massacre in 2004.
