Pete Hegseth, the American Secretary of Defense, stated that Tuesday will be the most intense day in terms of airstrikes against Iran since the beginning of the conflict, which started on February 28. Hegseth emphasized that Iran has launched the fewest missiles in the last 24 hours, suggesting a diminished response capability. He asserted that the U.S. will not withdraw from the war until the enemy suffers a decisive defeat, highlighting that military actions are carried out according to a schedule set by the United States.

General Dan Caine, the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces, added that in the first ten days of the war, over 5,000 targets in Iran were attacked, including military ships. Additionally, the Pentagon is considering options for escorting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global energy trade, which is de facto blocked due to the conflict. Iran has denied that it has closed the strait but has warned that it will attack vessels associated with the U.S. and Israel. This situation has led to widespread fear among ship operators, who are avoiding crossing the area due to risks and high insurance costs.
