The Goretti storm caused major disruptions in northern Europe, affecting approximately 380,000 homes in France, especially in Normandy, but also in Brittany, Picardy, and Ile-de-France. Wind gusts exceeded 200 km/h, and meteorologists issued warnings urging the population to stay indoors. In the Manche region, a gust of 213 km/h was recorded, and authorities recommended preparing emergency lighting sources.

In the United Kingdom, the Met Office issued a red warning for the Scilly Isles and Cornwall, where winds of up to 160 km/h are expected. Orange snow warnings have also been issued for Wales and central England, with forecasts of snow up to 30 cm. British Rail announced that rail services would be affected, urging people to avoid non-essential travel.

Extreme weather has led to at least eight deaths in Europe, with reports of casualties in Albania and severe problems in Germany, where heavy snowfall and strong winds have affected schools and transport. Temperatures could drop to -20°C in some areas, and authorities have mobilized resources to cope with the situation.
