DreiMeister Spezialitäten GmbH & Co. KG, a renowned producer of pralines and truffles from Germany, has filed for insolvency at the Arnsberg Court after more than fifty years of operation. The company has initiated the insolvency procedure under self-administration, allowing it to remain under current management but under the supervision of an external insolvency administrator, economist Michael Schütte.
This measure has been approved by the court, which has suspended enforcement actions to give the company a chance for economic stabilization. Currently, DreiMeister employs over 150 people, and their future is uncertain.
Founded in the 1950s, the company has grown to become a national player in the fine chocolate market, but has recently been affected by rising cocoa prices due to poor harvests. The CEO, Markus Luckey, has avoided public comments but has expressed confidence in the brand's future and the need to modernize the cost structure. The insolvency of DreiMeister aligns with a broader trend in the German confectionery industry, with other companies, such as House of Sweets, also entering bankruptcy.
