The European Commission has announced that it is seriously investigating allegations that Grok, the artificial intelligence tool developed by Elon Musk, is being used to create and distribute images with sexual content involving minors. The EU spokesperson, Thomas Regnier, condemned these images as 'illegal' and 'disgusting', emphasizing that they have no place in Europe.

X, the social media platform where Grok is available, has already been fined 120 million euros for violating European rules regarding online content. Additionally, the Paris Prosecutor's Office has expanded an investigation into X to examine the use of Grok in generating child pornography. The European Commission has requested additional information from X, and the company has responded to the requests. Regnier emphasized the importance of compliance with regulations by companies, considering the previous fines.
