The anti-drone shield project is a reaction to the increasing threats from drones, especially from Russia, which denies any involvement. Following recent incidents, including the downing of drones in Poland, the EU Commissioner for Defense will coordinate discussions to assess available equipment and additional needs. Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the importance of credible defense, proposing the allocation of 6 billion euros for an anti-drone alliance with Ukraine.
