The European Commission has launched a call to businesses to join an alliance with Ukraine, aimed at developing drone production in Europe.
This initiative aims to bring together manufacturers, innovators, and users from the EU and Ukraine, thus contributing to strengthening European capabilities in the field of drones and counter-drone efforts. The alliance will also be open to countries in the European Economic Area, such as Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland. The Commission is asking businesses with experience in drone production to register by May 25. In the context of Russian threats and the disengagement of the United States, EU member states are also intensifying their defense efforts, and drones are becoming essential due to their low costs and increased efficiency. Ukraine, with its recognized experience in this field, will contribute to strengthening European capabilities. This alliance aligns with already established partnerships, such as the one between Germany and Ukraine, focused on military cooperation in the field of drones.
