The head of the European Union's foreign policy, Kaja Kallas, stated on Monday, during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz highlights the need for a 'strong international coalition for maritime security.' Although she did not detail the specific actions of this coalition, Kallas emphasized that the European Union rejects any arrangement that limits 'free and safe passage through the strait, in accordance with international law.'

At the same time, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned that the ceasefire between the US and Iran is 'very fragile' and urged the international community to oppose any actions that could undermine this agreement or escalate the conflict. Wang emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum of the ceasefire and expressed China's willingness to contribute to resolving the conflict, including through the involvement of Pakistan.
