The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the disappearance of a precious gold bracelet, with lapis lazuli, dating from the time of Pharaoh Amenemope. The incident was discovered during an inventory of objects in the restoration laboratory, and an internal investigation has been opened. Authorities have alerted archaeological units at airports and entry points to prevent the jewelry from leaving the country. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which houses 170,000 archaeological objects, is preparing for the transfer of valuable exhibits to the new Egyptian Museum, scheduled to be inaugurated on November 1.
