Butchers are in high demand in Romania and abroad before the holidays, with salaries of up to 3,000 euros

In the period leading up to the holidays, the demand for butchers has significantly increased in Romania and abroad, but the labor market is facing a shortage of specialists. Experienced butchers can earn between 2,000 and 6,000 lei net per month in Romania, while abroad, average salaries reach 3,000 euros.

Paul, a butcher with studies in the food field, emphasizes the importance of knowing meat anatomy to provide quality products. Traian, with 15 years of experience, can process up to 12 pigs a day. On a recruitment platform, there are over 150 positions available, of which one third are abroad. There are also apprenticeship programs for young people, which offer training on the job in specialized slaughterhouses.
