Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis stated that U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to annex Greenland is legitimate and refused to express solidarity with Denmark, which opposes this intention. Babis emphasized that, within NATO, the U.S. is the leader and that international disputes are counterproductive. He also mentioned that the United States had previously attempted to buy Greenland five times.

In the context of Trump's threats to impose tariffs on European countries that support Denmark, several states, including Germany and Norway, have withdrawn their military contingent sent to Greenland. Babis stated that the Czech Republic will not align with calls for solidarity from other EU member states, considering such statements to be worthless.
