Following a tragedy in the Maldives, the bodies of the four missing Italian divers have been located in an underwater cave in the Vaavu Atoll. The recovery of the bodies will take place tomorrow, according to an announcement made by the Italian press. The divers were found by a team of Finnish divers in the third segment of the Thiwana Kandu cave, also known as the 'Shark Cave'.

The Maldivian authorities confirmed that the group had permission to dive to 50 meters, but two of the Italians were not on the official list, and exploring the cave was not part of the initial plan. The Finnish divers, who recently arrived in the area, began recovery operations using specialized equipment. The University of Genoa, which organized the dive, stated that it was not related to the authorized scientific research project, but was a private activity.
