According to the annual report of the German Pension Insurance Fund, the average retirement age has continuously increased, and the legal age will gradually reach 67 by 2031, with discussions about a possible increase to up to 70 years. A commission of experts will start in 2026 to develop proposals for fundamental reforms in the pension system.
