The American army announced on Saturday evening that it had shot down two Iranian attack drones that were threatening international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) reported that American forces in the Middle East acted to protect navigation in the area. This action came after Centcom shot down four Iranian drones and attacked Iranian ground surveillance radar stations on Friday evening. In response, Iran launched missiles against military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain, allies of the United States, and the American army intercepted six of these missiles.
Although Washington and Tehran are engaged in indirect discussions to end the conflict in the Middle East, progress is limited.
