Satellite images from March 2, 2026, show significant damage to the radar of a THAAD battery in Jordan, destroyed in the early days of the war triggered by the American-Israeli attacks on Iran.
The AN/TPY-2 radar, essential for intercepting enemy missiles, was severely damaged, and other buildings with similar equipment in the United Arab Emirates were also affected. Although the radar is crucial, the THAAD system can operate without it, but its response capability is diminished.
In recent days, Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates have decreased, but drone attacks continue to be frequent. Authorities in the Emirates have reported a significant number of attacks, including 1,072 with drones and 196 with ballistic missiles.
