Tesla continues to be a phenomenon in the automotive industry, being considered by some specialists a premium brand, while others see it merely as a volume brand. In the first half of the year, Tesla recorded sales of 838,149 vehicles, representing a 16.3% increase compared to the previous year.
This performance allowed Elon Musk's company to surpass Mercedes-Benz, which sold 837,200 cars, recording a 7% decrease compared to last year. This change in the global ranking reflects a broader trend of declining sales among the top 20 automotive companies in the world in the first six months of the year.
Tesla thus maintains its position as a leader in the electric vehicle market, despite the challenges facing the industry.
