Australian authorities have announced that the 24-year-old suspect, hospitalized after being shot by police, has been charged with murder in connection with the Sunday attack on Bondi Beach, where a 50-year-old man and his son opened fire during a Hanukkah celebration. The attack resulted in the deaths of 15 people, all of Jewish faith, and injured over 20 others, several of whom remain hospitalized.
The 50-year-old man, considered the second attacker, was shot dead by police. Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barret stated that the attack was motivated by the Islamic State group. Following this incident, authorities announced their intention to tighten regulations on gun ownership, and U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized the need to combat Islamist terrorism.
