A retired woman from Switzerland fell victim to an online scam, believing she was in a relationship with actor Brad Pitt. In May 2024, she was contacted on Instagram by an individual claiming to be the star's manager. The scammer convinced her to send nearly 107,000 euros, promising her an "eternal love." The woman was drawn into a false romantic story, receiving melodramatic messages that fueled her hopes. When she was invited to meet, the scammer asked for 50,000 dollars for logistical expenses, and she complied. After waiting three weeks in Los Angeles and sending another 20,000 dollars, the meeting did not take place. Back in Switzerland, she discovered that she was not the only one deceived and decided to file a complaint with the police. Left without savings, the woman realized that the entire story had been an illusion.
