A survey conducted by the International Institute of Sociology in Kiev (KIIS) shows that the majority of Ukrainians, 54%, firmly oppose the idea of withdrawing troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for security guarantees from Europe and the USA. Approximately 39% would reluctantly accept this idea, but their expectations are for significant guarantees.
Additionally, 70% of respondents are skeptical that current discussions will lead to lasting peace, and 57% believe that Russia will attack again in the event of a ceasefire. Ukraine insists on legal security guarantees, considering that Russia controls a large part of the Luhansk region and has intensified attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Although the USA is pressuring for a quick agreement, Ukraine refuses to cede territory without a fight.
